Paradise

In the second novel of Patricia Wolf’s series, DS Lucas Walker is in Surfer’s Paradise providing training workshops for police while recuperating from injuries and waiting to find out if he will be able to return to active duty.

He has struck it lucky, with fancy accommodation looking out to sea. But he’s bored, and happy to take on a homicide case, gaining a confession from a suspect within days.

When he meets up with the apartment owner (an old friend of his Dad’s), he has just received shocking news that his friend’s wife has been killed, and his daughter is in hospital.

DS Lucas steps in to help solve this crime, with Barbara’s help from the other side of the world. It builds to a gripping conclusion with ties to what happened in ‘Outback’.

While ‘Paradise’ can be read as a standalone novel, it will be a much richer read if you know the back story from ‘Outback’.
